Highlights of 2017
- Served more than 4,000 youth in 2017
- We reached 1,631 students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade with personal safety programs through the Child Abuse Prevention Council.
- Continued the alternative school in collaboration with all three school corporations. Since the program began operations, we now have recovered more than 350 credits and have had seven graduates as a result of their alternative school experiences.
- Community education presentations for adults on Human Trafficking, Setting and Maintaining Healthy Boundaries with Children, Child Abuse Prevention and Mandated reporting, Secondary Trauma and YSB programs reached more than 2,800 community members
- Nourish program has provided more than 32,000 back packs of food to children in all three school corporations. 630 volunteers have worked 713 hours in 2017-18. FFA, Wabash Freshmen, Cargill Employees, Southmont Girls Basketball Team, Banjo, and churches are just a few of our volunteer groups.
- 6th Annual National Night Out reached approximately 1,000 community members
- Nearly 300 Adult and Youth volunteers (other than Nourish) utilized in all programs totaling more than 22,000 hours of volunteer time.
- Successfully administered the Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition. Mini grant process granted nearly $44,000 to local agencies to combat substance abuse issues in our community.
- Met and exceeded our outcome measurements for Teen Court and JUMP Mentoring.
- Served more than 1,100 children through the REINdear programm succesfully collected application fees allowing for a scholarship of $1,000 for a graduating senior in 2018
- Utilized interns from Purdue and Ivy Tech to stretch resources
- Staff serve on multiple community initiatives/groups/boards and collaborate with:
- Wellness Council Health Department Advisory Council, Head Start Policy Council, 4-H Expansion and Review Committee, Teen Court Council, National Night Out, Women’s Legacy Fund, Kiwanis Board, Montcares, Children’s Bureau Advisory Council, Child Protection Team, DCS Regional Council, Boys & Girls Club, Family Crisis Shelter, All three school corporations, Youth Worker Café Planning Team, Indiana Youth Institute, Business and Professional Women
