Daniel Petrie
Occupation: Attorney How long have you lived in Montgomery County? 30 years. What do you do for fun in your spare time? My spare time is filled with nearly non-stop fun with my wife and two sons. We are big fans of the Children’s Museum and I can't wait to see the new Paw Patrol exhibit. I'm sure they are going to do amazing things with the Sea Patroller. When I'm not around the kids you can find me walking my dog on the Sugar Creek trail or saddled up at Backstep sharing my thoughts over a pint. Tell us about your family. My lovely wife Emily is the behavior specialist for the West Central co-op, providing services for all three county schools. She is, to be quite frank, a much better dancer than I am. My two sons are 5 and 2. They are crazy little squirrely guys who constantly keep me on my toes. Again......they are better dancers than me. I will be looking to my whole family for inspiration and motivation through May. What song always makes you get up and dance or sing along? My tastes are broad and varied, but I can't say no to Paul Simon's "Call me Al". What was your reaction when you were asked to be a Star? Thrilled. Excited. Terrified. Hopeful that people will show up and raise some money to help the youth of our community. Why did you decide to participate in this Youth Service Bureau fundraiser? In my work as an attorney in our local Courts, I see the issues that many of the youth in our community face in their daily lives. I also get to see the amazing work the Montgomery County YSB puts in to address these issues. Through programs like the CASA program, JUMP, Nourish, Teen Court, and several other community programs, I think there is no more important organization in the community and we all need to do all we can to support their work. Why should the public come to this event and support you and your partner? First, I'm a better dancer than you'd expect, but not so good it won't be hilarious to watch me. Second, Ashley is an even better dancer than advertised, and I'm excited to see how she can get us to a first place finish. Dancing with the Stars is an amazing event and I think everyone who can should come out. |
Ashley Clute
Occupation: Cosmetologist How long have you lived in Montgomery County? 2 years What do you do for fun in your spare time? This! Dancing! I've had a huge love for dance my entire life. I fit it into my life any way I can. At home dance parties are a tradition that has been in my life for as long as I can remember and I hope never dies. I also love spending time with my awesome family. We all love anything that involves food...cooking, baking, eating out, you name it. Thank goodness I can also add fitness to this list, considering our love for food. Tell us about your family. One of my biggest fans is my 15 year old daughter, Chelsea. She is truly the coolest teenager I know. I moved to Crawfordsville with my boyfriend, Jake. He is the head baseball coach at Wabash College and has an 8 year old daughter, Maddie. Maddie would seriously put all of our dance moves to shame. My parents, Bruce and Linda, have been following me around watching me dance almost my entire life. I hope they know how grateful I am for that and I must say....I definitely got all my dance moves from my mama. What is your dance background? I started dancing competitively with Dance Workshop at the age of 8 and never really stopped. This is my second year to participate in the Montgomery County Dancing with the Stars. Prior to that I was a "pro" for the Putnam County Dancing with the Stars for 8 years. What is your favorite music to dance to? Anything with a good beat. Why did you decide to participate in this Youth Service Bureau fundraiser? It feels good to give back to the community, especially when it involves youth, but I also have a hard time saying no to anything dance related. I also long to feel more connected to this community and I know this fundraiser is one of the best ways to achieve that. Why should the public come to this event and support you and your partner? If not to do something good for the community, come for pure entertainment. We will not disappoint! It truly is a fun, feel good event that you shouldn't miss. |
