Debbie Lovold
Occupation: Retired Business Owner How long have you lived in Montgomery County? Since I was 2. What do you do for fun in your spare time? Lately, dancing with Preston. Ordinarily, spending time with the kids and grandkids. I love reading, crosswords, and visiting with friends. Tell us about your family. I have four adult children, and six grandchildren. What song always makes you get up and dance or sing along? Oh boy...you're making me choose. 60s/70s rock. What was your reaction when you were asked to be a Star? Shock. Amazement. Then...why not? It's for a good cause! Why did you decide to participate in this Youth Service Bureau fundraiser? I think they have invaluable programs here in this community, so I'm proud to raise any money that I can. (Even if I have to embarrass myself to do it! Haha.) Why should the public come to this event and support you and your partner? Why should this even be a question? Shouldn't everyone want to come and support the youth of our community? But, if you need another reason...to see how awesome we are! |
Preston Dildine
Occupation: Actor/Director/Playwright/Ballroom-Acting Instructor/Server How long have you lived in Montgomery County? All my life, off and on. I've recently moved back to Crawfordsville as a "home base" between out of state performances. Originally, I'm from the bustling metropolis of Mace. You know, that huge city between Crawfordsville and New Ross? What do you mean, you blinked and missed it?! What do you do for fun in your spare time? One has to HAVE spare time to have fun during it... I like eating and Netflixing mainly. Or hanging out on the couch with my friends. But ask any of them, it has become a rarity! Tell us about your family. I am the oldest of two on the Dildine side, and the next youngest on the Franklin side. (Fun fact: JUST found out who my unknown half-siblings are!) My mother, Autum McIntyre, lives in Ladoga, and is a phenomenal Avon salesperson. My brother Anthony lives near Ladoga as well with his fiancee Haleigh! My Uncle Matt is also still living an incredible life in the MoCo area, and my grandparents Ed and Linda are still on the property outside of Mace where I grew up! They are all very supportive of me and my career, and I of theirs. My new half-siblings are also living the MoCo life, except for my younger sister, who lives out near Rockville. What is your dance background? I started dancing in show choir in junior high, until I was told I couldn't dance by a fellow classmate. I stopped after that semester, spineless kid that I was. I picked it back up later in high school and college by dancing in school and community theatre musicals. I also took a ballroom class while in college. I became a choreographer during my time at Myers Dinner Theatre post-college, and also found an ad for a ballroom studio in Crawfordsville, Dancing Raine Studios. I was hired on and began to train, and stayed with that studio as an instructor for three years before my acting career took me out of state. What is your favorite genre of music to dance to? Latin music, hands down. I like to get my hips moving. They sure do feel it the next day, though. Why did you decide to participate in this Youth Service Bureau fundraiser? I am so excited to come back for my fourth year, after missing last year's fundraiser! I love this event, because it brings the community together for what I think is one of the most important things in the world: our children. The children in our community that need help, care, families, education. Children are our future, and we would be doing a disservice to the world by neglecting them of the bare essentials. The Youth Service Bureau is a very important program, and I am proud to do my part to assist them in their endeavors. Why should the public come to this event and support you and your partner? Well, as I said earlier, to support the children of our community. But along with that, my partner Debbie and I, upon getting to know one another, have both realized that we share very similar...physical limitations. It is our intent to bring awareness to physical disability and the need for hope and the triumph in perseverance and overcoming the obstacles laid before us. |
